CrossOver Lock Management Kit

Lock Management Kit.

The Lock Management Kit is used to control the CrossOver locks that use the AccessPilot PC software: The X45, X25, X15 and Doorstrike Controller. (The Solo iButton Lock does not require PC software, but does not have the features the CrossOver locks do.) You only need one Management Kit, no matter how many locks you own.

The kit consists of:

Software CD

The AccessPilot PC software was written by TimePilot to provide an easy way to to control your CrossOver locks. With the software, you can:

  • Add and delete users.
  • Set each lock's date and time. Each lock has a clock inside it. If you need to restrict access to certain times of day, or will want to download an audit trail (see above), you’ll need to set the time and date on the lock.
  • Set Lock Parameters. This process allows you to set the lock’s red light to blink if desired (helpful if the lock is in a dark area, but a slight draw on the batteries). Also, if the lock is in Storehouse Mode (re‐locking itself shortly after each time it is opened), you can set the delay before it relocks to up to 25.5 seconds.
  • Download an audit trail, which will tell you when someone operated the lock (or attempted to). Each lock keeps a time-stamped record of every time an iButton was tapped to the lock or an ID code was entered on the keypad. Read a true story about how this feature helped solve a crime.
  • Lock Override. With this function you can set the lock to remain locked or remain open until the Program Key is touched to the lock again. If you do this, the settings for individual iButton keys are ignored. Therefore, if the lock is set to “Always Open,” it remains open and anyone can enter until the Program Key is touched to it; if it’s set to “Always locked,” no one can get in until the Program Key is touched to the lock.
  • One‐Time‐Use Keycode Setup. If your lock has a keypad (CrossOver X25 or X15), you can set as many as 10 four‐ to eight‐digit codes that will allow one‐time access to the lock. These could be used if, for instance, a repairman needed access to your facility. They could punch in their one‐􀆟me keycode and enter your facility, but once the code is used it cannot be used again.

Blue Dot iButton Receptor

This device plugs into a USB port on your PC. At the other end of the cable are two snap-in probes for iButtons. When you're setting up iButtons to be used to operate the locks, you'll snap each iButton into one of the probes so the software can read each iButton's unique ID code. When you're setting up your locks, you'll snap the yellow Program iButton (see next item) into the receptor so that the instructions can be copied from the software into the Program iButton's memory.

Yellow Program iButton

The Program iButton contains memory, unlike the iButtons you'll use to operate the lock (these iButtons usually come in black fobs). When you're setting up or making changes to your locks, you'll make the changes in the AccessPilot software on your PC, save them to the Program iButton, and then touch the Program iButton to each lock to copy the instructions into the lock's memory.

User manual

The manual details how to set up and use the software, in easy-to-understand language and with numerous screenshots.

Emergency methods

Purchasers of the CrossOver X15 Lock also receive an external power pack used to open the lock in an emergency; purchasers of CrossOver X25, X45 and Solo receive a set of emergency keys for each lock they purchase.
